About Turning Point Marine

David AllenI guess you could say that Marilyn and I are "true boaters" as we put 600 engine hours per year on our 37' Nordic Tug.

We were heading north to Alaska on our fantasy fishing trip in our new tug. We love our boat because it has those special features that make it comfortable and safe for cruising the waters of the San Juan Islands and our trips north.

When we started into Grenville Channel, you could see all the way to the horizon. There seemed no end to this waterway. Marilyn grabbed a folding chair and went up to the boat deck to enjoy the warm sunshine and to smell the salt air. Soon I followed her with my autopilot dodger and when I got up there, I found a sweet silence and an unobstructed view.

What would it take to get a steering station up here and some seating? I could not get this out of my mind, so when we returned to LaConner we set out to find a flying bridge for our boat. After much research, we were unable to find what we wanted at a reasonable cost, so we decided to take on this project ourselves. Our goal was to add a flying bridge to our boat that kept the "original profile" and was economical to construct. The results of our efforts is the "TUG HELM". We are extremely happy and excited with the results and decided to make it available to other 37' Nordic Tug owners. The "TUG HELM" is now in production and available for sale.
